Default How do I remove read-only on Word and Excel 2000 documents?

I have documents in Word and Excel that I need to place on a disk and move to
another computer. When I look at the documents there is NO read only in the
tool options checked.
I am using Veritas to copy the files onto a blank disk. They copy fine but
come up read-only. What am I doing wrong?
I really need to be able to work on these documents elsewhere. HELP!!

Nothing. Just copy them over to your other computer and if they are still
RO, go into Windows explorer, right-click, select properties and clear the
RO option at the bottom.
