Table Headers don't repeat
What prevents Word from "honoring" the "Repeat as table header at top of
page" setting for tables? It seems like I can only get this to work about 75% of the time in my documents. Thanks |

Table Headers don't repeat
1. Since the repeated header is an artifact, you have to be in Print Layout
view to see it (it's not displayed in Normal view). 2. You must have no breaks in the table (page breaks, section breaks). 3. If you start nesting tables, Word can get confused, I think. -- Suzanne S. Table Headers don't repeat
Just to add to what Suzanne said about nested tables - headings do not
repeat in nested tables - because they are wholly contained inside another table cell they aren't ever considered by Word to flow across a page boundary (AFAIK!). -- Enjoy, Tony "Suzanne S. Table Headers don't repeat
I didn't appear to have any of these conditions, but what I did discover is
that Word can apparently get confused if you select the repeating header option both on the individual row, and then on the entire table (when selecting the table "handle"). (Maybe this is what the mysterious check-mark vs filled-in-block symobolgy on the option setting is trying to tell me?) I went back, selected the entire table via the "handle", and deselected the repeating header option. Then I selected the single first row and selected the repeating header option again, and the header magically appeared. Thanks for the suggestions. "Tony Jollans" No Mail wrote in message ... Table Headers don't repeat
LOL - yes, I guess you can't have the whole table as a repeated heading.
