Shared Workbook problem - HELP!!!...
We are using a shared Excel 2000 Workbook in our Network.
There are around 5 users who are constantly opening up the shared workbook and entering/saving items into the tabs/sheets we have setup. When we close all the workbooks on the 5 user's PCs, then the workbook can be opened fine on 1 PC. Another PC can then open up the workbook OK, but when a third user tries to open up the workbook we get an error message to say that Excel.exe has encountered errors and will be closed by Windows. When we looked at the shares status, we could see that one user had around 5 open sessions that were around 1 minute apart from each other. We killed these shared sessions, but we are still getting the same problem. Please can someone advise us. We are running Office 2000 Pro on Windows 2000 Pro clients. Thanks, skc |

Shared Workbook problem - HELP!!!...
Workbook sharing can create problems. I think the log
file that is created bogs down the actual workbook over time. When I have had problems in the past, I have disable workbook sharing, then re-enabled it. This clears the track changes log. You may also want to disable the track changes log (on the advanced tab). Hope this helps. Allan -----Original Message----- We are using a shared Excel 2000 Workbook in our Network.
