starting Visio shows existing drawing instead of blank one
In the last 2 days, when I open Visio (2007 Pro) without specifying a file,
instead of seing a blank drawing, Visio shows me 'drawing1', but it's actually a drawing I worked on last month (let's call ABC). If I open any Visio drawing (by file association), the drawing shows up, but 'drawing1' also opens up with the ABC drawing. If I close the 'drawing1' window, then save the real drawing I'm working on, when I reopen my drawing, again I'll also see the 'drawing1' window with the ABC drawing. Registry 'shellnew' for .vsd is null. Where do I look ? |

starting Visio shows existing drawing instead of blank one
Thanks Paul for the reply. Unfortunately your suggestion didn't resolve the
issue. I've uninstalled and reinstalled Visio, searched for unusual registry entries: same issue. Given that I open Visio without specifying any file and still get that old drawing as 'drawing1', I suspect it has to do with the template or stencil normally used by Visio to create a blank drawing; but then, doing "File / New" within Visio does create a normal blank drawing. Unfortunately, I don't know the inner workings of Visio to investigate. Any other suggestion is welcome. However, it might be an autorecover file, have a look at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/829239 -- Regards, Paul Herber, Sandrila Ltd. DFD/SSADM for Visio http://www.visio-dfd.sandrila.co.uk/ |
