Default "Your Microsoft Exchange Server is unavailable" when Sending Page

I continually get this message "Your Microsoft Exchange Server is
unavailable" when Sending a Page from IE6. Our network consists of 8000
users running WinXP SP2 with all available patches applied to IE6.

We are running Exchange 2003 on a Win2K Adv Server Network. All SP's are
applied.

Any ideas?

Thanks for your help!

I don't know if this is related because I am a single user on XP pro using
outlook to handle a pop3 account for me. I don't know what update may have
started this behavior because I rarely shut down my computer but, after a
recent reboot, my ability to send email was prevented due to an odd resetting
of values in my outlook account.
The pop3 entry was changed to "localhost" and the username was appended with
what I had originally had in the pop3 box. I reset the user account to the
values that make everything work and all was well untill the next reboot.
I had been trying everything I know (and that is minimal) to get the account
to remain unchanged after rebooting but so far, no joy.
I just started looking at these posts and have found many people with
similar probs, apparently after installing WinXP SP2.
Hope this will give you a clue to your problem.

Any ideas?

Thanks for your help!
