Opening Word with a template other than normal.dot
Is there a way I can set up Word to always open for my
users with a different template than normal.dot? We want them to always use a template that's streamlined and customized for our projects rather than Word's normal.dot. Ideally the "new document" icon on their toolbar would also then open new documents based on our customized template rather than the normal.dot. Any suggstions? |

For some reason this startup switch is omitted from the Help article
"Customize how Word starts." See "WD: Word Startup (Command-Line) Switches and Their Purpose" at http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=210565 -- Suzanne S. Just save your template as Normal.dot. Normal.dot can be adjusted and changed any way you want.

*Bad* idea. Only Word can create a Normal.dot.
