Default Removing page numbers from a Word doc

sI have a Word doc with page numbers in the footer. I added a second section
to the end of the doc and do not want page numbers in that section. However,
if I remove page numbers from the second section, Word automatically removes
them from the first section as well. According to Word Help, the way to deal
with this (i.e., leave section numbers in the first section but not in the
second), is to "break the connection between the sections." I'd like to know
how to do this. Can someone with experience explain? Thanks!

Turn off "Same as Previous" or "Link to Previous" in the second section. See
