Does anyone know if it's possible to hide text boxes. for example if the text
is big, and you want to hide it in a presentation but not delete it.

In the Miscellaneous section is a HideText cell. You can create a document
or page custom property/ Shape Data to control the visibilty and place a
formula in the HideText cell. Then you can switch the custom property to
hide and unhide the text.

You need to get your hands dirty and expore the shapesheet. Miscellaneous s
one of the sections within the shapesheet.

If you are doing this to a number of shapes, you may want to consider making
the chages to the shapes master and let the shape instances on the page,
inherit the chages. So you can open the document stencil to get at the
masters for that document or open the stencil they came from.

Sorry, I'm new to Visio. I found the shapesheet. But I want text with all the
shapes. So changing the shapes master would be the best way to do it. But how
to I get there? Where do I find the document stencil?

Since you are new, I will review some of the basics. When you create a Visio
drawing, you can create shapes from scratch or drag them from a stencil.
Shapes on a stencil are actually master shapes. When you drag a master shape
from a stencil, in addition to placing an instance of the shape on the page,
it also creates a copy of the master within the document in an area called
the document stencil.

If you edit it a master shape on the document the changes can be replicated
to all the instances of that shape within the document.

To get to the Document Stencil.
View -- Toolbars -- Stencils
The document stencil is the second one and looks like a white piece of paper
with the bottom left corner turned up.
