Default Permission Denied 2007

I have a simple data base that I upgraded from 2003 to 2007. Everything
works as expected except a macro (called from a form) that creates a text
file of email address. I get a Access error "Permission Denied". I assume
there may be something I have to change with user permissions, but I can't
figure it out. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
John

Hello John,

See the Trust Center settings for permissions about Macros. Click
the Office button, choose Access Options button in the lower right
and then choose Trust Center. If you place the db in a trusted
location, you should be all set.

I hope this helps.

Thanks Julie, but that did not help. Having the file in a trusted location eliminates the warning message when I open the db, but I still get the “permission denied’ error either when I try to create or write to "C:\EmailAddresses.csv".

Any other ideas?

Hi John,
Sorry, no, frankly I'm stumped. Any other changes -- same OS etc?
I assume you have permissions from the OS to write to the root of
c:\ ?

Actually there was another major change, I moved from XP to Vista. I assumed (I know how that can get me in trouble) that since the error box of “Permission Denied” was created by “Microsoft Office Access” that it was an Access permission problem and not Vista. How do I check if access has permission to write to the root?

Thanks
John

Default Permission Denied 2007

If you are on Vista, you do NOT have permission to copy files into the root
directory. Select a different directory.

Thanks to both of you. It was a Vista problem trying to write to the root
directory.
