Default Outlook deleting two e mails at a time

Recently I've noticed that when I select an e mail in the Inbox and press the
delete button Outlook is deleting the selected message and the message
directly below it in the Inbox. If I select undo delete I get back the
message that I did not select for deletion.

Also, I've noticed that when opening Outlook for the first time after
turning on the computer I sometimes get a message stating that a Data File in
Outlook did not close properly and the system is checking the file.

Any help with these two issues would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

What addins do you have running? Are you syncing with a handheld device?
They can prevent outlook from closing properly which will result in the
second error. The delete problem may be related.
