Hi, my installation of Outlook Express has developed a problem that
I've only recently discovered. E-Mail's that I receive with
attachments will not display.

Thanks for any help

TIA

As Bruce indicated, you really need to be more specific. Is the
display problem the email itself or the attachments? Or both? Also, is
it OE6, on what OS, XP probalby, but: SP2? SP3? What
changed on the computer as this started happening, Did any other
problems precede it? etc.. The more relevent detail the better.

HTH,

Twayne`

Is this a "Me Too" post also? It is obvious from the OP's message
headers that he is running a fully patched XP/SP3 with OE6.

Nope; it adds considerably to the content.

Hi, adding additional information.

The E-Mail with its attachment will download from my ISP to my inbox the
same as all other emails. The E-Mail header will show but nothing will show
in the preview pane(blank). The E-Mail has the paper clip indicating an
attachment but double clicking it does not open it in OE-6 or IE-8. Right
clicking the paper clip does give me the option to save the attachment to my
Documents Folder. These are E-Mails that I would normally consider as Spam
and not open the attachments anyway. The attachments are in html. You are
able to see this when right clicking the paper clip prior to saving. I
experimented with sending myself a E-Mail with an attachment and everything
displayed as it normally should. This was with a txt, doc, and jpg
attachment. Possibly, my problem is only with html attachments. All other
Spam that slips through to my inbox, displays in my preview pane. Of
course, there is no attachment with them. I have seen a control under tools
to select "do not download attachments" but I do not have it "selected".

Thanks for the help so far.

Its likely those messages are malformed from junky spamming programs. If
they are all spam then just ignore them. Its not your machine, its the
senders's email programs.

Send yourself a message you create with an attachment. Does that open? Does
it open in Sent Items?
