e-mail distribution list with v-cards
I e-mailed a distribution list to a collegue & all the members of the
distribution list had v-cards (contact information) in the distribution list. Can the person who received the e-mailed distribution list save each member as a v-card in her outlook contacts? If so, how? I had her open up the distribution list & click on the contact & do a save & close, but that didn't work. Please help. Thanks. |

DL's do not and cannot contain vCards, so I don't know why you think they
can. They contain only a list of names and email addresses which cannot be selected for automatic entry into a Contacts Folder. If you sent the DL correctly to another Outlook user, Save and Close would save the DL to the default Contacts Folder, not its members. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "quinn111" wrote in message ... e-mail distribution list with v-cards
OK - I typed too fast when i was putting this together. I didn't mean v-card
I meant member information such as all the information about the member of the distribution list which is more than the name & e-mail, but the phone numbers & all the other information. There is no way to have the receipient of the distribution list to save each member as a new contact? I would hate for someone to have to type all the information in again or for me to send them the information on each member as a V-card. Typing too fast was not the problem. You're also reading too fast. I already
answered this. The fact remains that you did not place any of that Contact information into a DL. You can't. You only placed names and email addresses in the DL because that's all a DL contains. Accordingly, that's all you sent. If you wanted to send Contact Records, then you should have sent Contact Records. DL's do not contain Contact Records. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "quinn111" wrote in message ... OK - I typed too fast when i was putting this together.
