Default Can I ditch the 2007 look and get my office programs to look the waythey used to

Hi

I have recently installed Office 2007 on my PC and am beginning to
wish I hadn't. Gone are all the meaningful and familiar menus. Instead
we have a confusing array of tabs and graphic icons. Is there any way
I can get these programs to display in the classic old style, or do I
have to un-install this software and go back to the decent versions?

That depends. It depends on the version you had previously and if you
have the key code to install it.

Frankly, I would suggest sticking with 2007. As time goes by whatever
version you have will become more and more obsolete. You may find it
difficult to share with other's have have moved on to the newer programs and
you will find that as the operating systems versions progress your old
Office programs will become less and less compatible until they fail totally
on any new operating system.

I still have my Office Professional XP and I am using Windows Vista. I
know there are a few incompatibilities between the two, but so far I have
not had any conflicts. I suspect the next Windows upgrade may well spell
the end of XP.

As for all those different interface tools, you will get use to them and
will learn the tricks that work for you, just like you did with the version
you want to go back to. It has happened every time there has been a change.

I suspect that if you use it a lot and if you give it a fair chance, by
the end of the year you will like it better than your old version. I only
say this because I have gone through many changes starting with Windows 3.1
(and a few other earlier versions).
