Is there any way to not lose shape comments when saving a diagram as .htm? I am using Visio Standard 2002 SP-2.

I have verified the related information in Visio 2002 & 2003. By design, it is not possible to achieve the requirement.

Default Shape Comments Lost When Saved as .htm

The workaround we suggest is to make a custom property and link it to the
shape comment. That way, when you mouse over the shape, you'll see the shape
comment as one of the properties in the left pane.
