Default Reinstalling ie6 trouble

I am having trouble with internet explorer 6, and decide to reinstall the
browser. I went Microsoft knowledge base , and followed article 318378. I
changed the value of HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Active
Setup|Installed Components\{89820200-ECBD-11cf-8885-00AA005B4383 from 1 to 0
as the directions instructed. This faked the computer out . After
downloading from Microsoft,s ie6 home page, the computer stops the
instillation because it can't verify the authenticity of the download. What
toi hell is goung on? Does anybody know how i can get aroubd rhis nonsense
without havind to do a reinstillation fom the Windows XP Home disk. I would
appreciate any ideas.

Thanks
