Default Multilevel list

I am running into what I think is a bug in Word 2007. I am attempting to use
one of the built in multilevel lists. On the Home ribbon, I am choosing the
multilevel list button, and then I am choosing the list that has the
following levels.
I. (heading 1)
A. (heading 2)
1. (heading 3)
a) (heading 4)
etc

After choosing that list style, I am presented with a blue "I." and am able
to start typing...it is in the "heading 1" style as it should be. Here is
where the bug comes up. When I hit enter, it should give me a blue "II."
(also in heading 1 style). Instead, it breaks out of the list at that point.
It gives me normal text not in the multilevel list. Basically it should
continue the numbering when you hit enter, and it doesn't. I have tested
this through the first eight levels of the list. All levels of this
particular multilevel list style fail to continue the list when hitting
enter. Most of the other styles do work as expected. The style that has
"Article I" and "Section 1" also fails to continue numbering.

Can others reproduce this? Does anyone know of a fix to this issue?

Thanks in advance,

Jarvis

Jarvis,

I can reproduce this but I only found a temp solution by changing the styles
settings. I think this should not be the correct way to solve this problem
because it is a build in style. So you are right on this one.

Thanks Maurice.

How did you work around the problem? What styles setting did you change?

I am still going to submit it as a bug, but in the meantime, I'd like to
know how to be able to use that list style.

Thanks,
Jarvis

I worked around it via the styles edit option. However this is far from ideal
because - as you stated - it keeps jumping back to the normal text option.
