Default How to send a 'Mark Your Outlook Calendar' link within an html email

I've seen a few companies send html emails with a link called 'Mark your Outlook Calendar'. Once clicked, it will post the meeting in your Outlook Calendar. How is this done? Thanks in advance.

They're sending links to iCalendar or vCalendar files that they've posted on
their web site or generate on the fly. You can make such files with
Outlook's File | Save As command or forward them in email messages with the
Action | Forward as vCal/iCal command.
