picture border spacing
Thanks Ed: This enabled the border to be pulled out from the picture
but there's no precision provided to ensure that the space is the same on all sides and could be identically repeated for other pictures- it's all just guess work. Pub 2000 provided an easy & precise way of doing this - Format Picture Frame Properties Margins could be set away from the picture precisely on all sides. Where is this similar option available in Pub 2003? Ed Ed Bennett wrote: A small child turns to Ed, and exclaims: "Look! Look! A post from Edward !"... How does one change the spacing between a picture and its border in Publisher 2003? Select your picture On the Picture toolbar, select the Crop tool Hold Ctrl and drag a corner crop handle outwards from your image. |

Thanks Mary - but . . . "dog icon" ? "wrap points" ? Sorry, just a
novice. Ed [email address: omit "our"] Mary Sauer wrote: Edit the wrap points, select the image, click the dog icon, edit wrap points, this will allow you to make the border of the image in any shape and size. |

O.K. I found this in "Arrange" menu - but this just pulls the frame at a
particular wrap point. Kind of neat, but not what we're looking for. We want to be able to control the distance a 4 sided straight border is from the edge of the picture. Thanks, Ed Mary Sauer wrote: Edit the wrap points, select the image, click the dog icon, edit wrap points, this will allow you to make the border of the image in any shape and size. |

Create an autoshape, right-click, format autoshape, put the exact measurement you
want for the shape, click no line. Center your image in the shape, group. -- Mary Sauer MS MVP http://office.microsoft.com/ http://www.mvps.org/msauer/ news://msnews.microsoft.com "Edward" wrote in message ... picture border spacing
We've finally figured out the way to do this. Thank you all for your
help - special thanks to Ed who pointed us to the crop tool. The procedure we're using, that seems to work and provide a way for precise control of the distance between a picture and its border, is to set up the layout guides and insert the picture. Click on the crop tool. Format Picture Picture Tab and set distance with a negative number (eg. -1). This shrinks the picture to inside the guides (it doesn't crop). Then the Lines & Border tool to apply the lines around the picture. Thanks again for all the help. It's obvious that there are many ways to "skin the cat" Ed Ed Bennett wrote: A small child turns to Ed, and exclaims: "Look! Look! A post from Edward !"...
