Default can't install office 2007

First, I only want to install part of the Office 2007 system (one note and
powerpoint).

However, I can't even get that far. I get an error "the 2007 microsoft
office system does not support upgrading from a prerelease version of the
2007 microsoft office system" as soon as the disc starts to load.

Well, I don't have a pre-release version of office 2007. I do have office
2000, which I desire to keep. And I have other Microsoft programs
installed, like Home Publishing 2000, Outlook, etc. I checked control
panel, and see nothing relating to pre-release Office products.

What to do? I don't know what "issue to correct."

Thx.

Do you have an Office12 folder in the Program files group?
Possibly Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12 ?
Do you have a retail version of Office 2007?
On what o/s are you installing?
