How to Download New Messages Only from POP3 account - URGENT!
Hi folks, bit of a quandry here.
How does one configure either Outlook or Outlook Express to download only new messages from a POP3 server? I just tried to set up a POP3 (Yahoo Mai) account within Outlook Express, and it downloaded ALL the e-mails in my inbox - over 530 messages!!!!! I'd like to set up Outlook or Express to download only new messages from the server, not all e-mails in the inbox. So, additonally, is there any way to get all my e-mail meesages back into my Yahoo account from where the came? Or am I stuck with them all in Outlook now? Any help appreciated! Thanks so much. Jesse Have you checked that they have all disappeared in Yahoo? Do you have "leave a copy of messages on the server" checked in toolsaccountsmailpropertiesadvanced. Once OE has downloaded all the mail, it should download it all again. You can't configure it to only download new mail in a POP3 account. BTW are you sure the account you are using is a POP3? Have you paid for this? US- and CA-based Yahoo accounts must pay for the privilege of accessing Yahoo mail in a Mail Client.
