Default Group policy to disable changing defaults

Is there a group policy to disable users from changing the default settings
in Office 2007, Word in particular?

Exactly what are you trying to achieve? Such a sledge hammer approach is
probably inappropriate.

Default Group policy to disable changing defaults

I am in a K12 school setting. We have students that change the font and set
that as the default or they change page layout and set that as the default.
Other users then have to go back and switch back to the actual default
setting. I want to prevent this from happening.

A better approach is to teach students to customize Word in every possible
way (including toolbar customization, creating styles, etc.) and have
software that resets everything to its defaults when they quit Word or
restart Windows. Our public library uses an application called Deep Freeze
that does this (see http://www.faronics.com/html/deepfreeze.asp).

And quite frankly, that is what I am after. I don't mind them changing and
customizing, just not changing the defaults for everyone else that uses that
computer. But I don't want to put in another software package to do the job
if I can do that with group policy.
