Reminder message is not appearing.
The error message reads; "There was a problem reading one or more of your reminders. Some reminders may not appear. Can not locate recurrence information for this appointment." Any help would be greatly appreciated. "Ken Slovak - [MVP - Outlook]" wrote: What's not working at this point and what error do you get? And did you try using the startup switches /resetfolders and
/cleanreminders? You should be able to use those switches, without any errors, and that should start Outlook. If those switches don't work to resolve the problem you may have to try creating a brand new profile and see if that works. -- Ken Slovak [MVP - Outlook] http://www.slovaktech.com Author: Absolute Beginner's Guide to Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 Reminder Manager, Extended Reminders, Attachment Options http://www.slovaktech.com/products.htm "troyhud" wrote in message ... Hi Ken,
I see you've helped other users so I'm hoping you can help me. Although I have pop-up reminders set in Outlook 2003, when another program is open, e.g., Word, etc, they usually only appear in the task bar. Is there a way to force pop-ups to appear on top of other programs and stay there until dismissed/snoozed? Thanks! Brad "jagr" wrote: Hello, your solution workd I think for part of the problem, which was reminders would not hold flagged items. Now I need to insert in the run field the correct/previoud string so that it will open without an error message on the switch. What do I type to solve this? A comment...I have been having the same problem since applying one of the Windows updates (not sure which one). But I tried this and it worked!!! I found it best to simply copy the directions (outlook.exe /resetfolders /cleanreminders) and paste into the Run dialog. What a relief! But what caused this? |

No definitive way. The usual solution is to look for different display
drivers. Oddly that's the cause of the problem many times. -- Ken Slovak [MVP - Outlook] http://www.slovaktech.com Author: Absolute Beginner's Guide to Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 Reminder Manager, Extended Reminders, Attachment Options http://www.slovaktech.com/products.htm "BeckBrad" wrote in message ... Hi Ken I have a problem that seems to be realted to this.
I am running Outlook 2002 and have started recieving "reminders" for every mail that appears in my inbox. I can "Dismiss All" and then try to delete the mail in the inbox. I then recieve a message telling me that there are errors on my .pst file and I should run teh Inbox Repair Tool. I run this after quiting Outlook and I am told that there are no errors. Returning to Outlook the same cycle repeats itself. Any ideas? |

Did you try using the /cleanreminders and /resetfolders switches? You can
also try the /cleanfreebusy switch. I'd also try running scanpst.exe 3 times, alternating each time with a hard drive scanner. Sometimes that helps. -- Ken Slovak [MVP - Outlook] http://www.slovaktech.com Author: Absolute Beginner's Guide to Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 Reminder Manager, Extended Reminders, Attachment Options http://www.slovaktech.com/products.htm "Andy" wrote in message oups.com... Hi I tried the switches and ran the inbox repair tool 3 times but with
no joy. ANy other possibilities greatly appreciated. Alternatively I could create a new profile and I guess try and export the various folders independantly ( sent items, contacts etc,) until I encounter a pronlem and undo that export/import as the damaged files are found. Would that work? |

If you've tried all that then a new profile is the way to go.
