Default clipart woes

Since upgrading to Office 2003 I seem to be having no end of trouble with
the clipart in Word. Previously I was using Office 2000 which featured Word
6.0, and I was able to open clipart, select a category, click on a clip and
drag the clip sideways into the document. Doing it that way meant I could
literally drag the clip anywhere around the page and it acted as a picture -
could sit on top of text (which I could then text-wrap around it etc, rather
than as text as in sitting in the middle of line as thought it was typed.)

Now with this new version, I can't seem to drag clips into the document in
the same way, and anything I use from the clipart categories seems to act
like it is text, as in I can't text wrap around it, resizing it alters the
line spacing for that particular line, etc. I'm finding it increasingly
frustrating, and regret the upgrade as using the clipart is a big feature of
what I use Word for. I just want to be able to drag the clip art in, and
have it act like a picture I can move anywhere on the page, rather then have
it locked into whereever my cursor is at any given moment.

I hope this makes some sense. Can anyone offer some advice?

Mandy

You can drag and drop in Word 2003 just as in the earlier version, but how
it behaves when you drop it is now configurable. By default it is inserted
in line with text (as you describe), but by a simple change to tools
options edit you can select any insert option you wish.

Thank you so much...you have no idea how much angst this has been creating
for me!

Can you offer advice on how I insert (or paste) new clips into the
categories, like I have previously been able to do in older versions?? I
seem to have a lot of self-made categories in my previous version of word
(work related logos etc), and would like to create similar in the 2003
version.
