Default User and Power User get OE6 error "not installed..."

After setting up my WinXP installation and having Outlook Express 6 working
correctly as Administrator, I setup a User account in Windows. When I log
on as User and launch Outlook Express 6 the following error is occurs :
" Outlook Express could not be started. It may not be installed correctly.
Make sure that your disk is not full or that you are not out of memory.
Contact Microsoft Support for further assistance. (0x800C012E, 5)

I am not out of memory and the disk is not full.

When I give User administrative rights, it works; when I return to user or
power user, it gets this error message.

Any help appreciated.

Juan

According to the link you sent, "These errors can all occur if one or more
*.dbx files in the current store folder are set as Read-only. Close OE and
open the store folder in Windows Explorer. Select all files, then
right-click on any one and select Properties. Uncheck the box for "Read
only", leaving only the "archive" bit checked."

When I did so the Read-only property was not checked already and the archive
bit I assume is the property under the Advanced Tab entitled "File is ready
for archiving".

Again, the issue is related to whether I am logged onto WinXP as
Administrator or not (ie: User or Power User, which both get the error).

Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Juan

Try moving all the user's dbx files to another directory and reopen OE =
(or try to) and see if that helps.

If not, then try this:
