Default Music file restarts when presentation loops

Hello --

I know there is a lot about playing music throughout a presentation in this forum, so I apologize for adding more.

I am using PPT 2002 on Windows XP, and am trying to run a .wav file throughout my PowerPoint presentation. The presentation is set to transition through all slides automatically after 5 seconds each, and loop continuously. The wav file should begin playing at the start and continue running for the duration, which it does, but should continue to play even as the presentation loops back to the beginning. Currently, the wav file restarts when the presentation loops back to the beginning. Is there a way to run a presentation and make it loop continuously, and get a wav file to play and continue playing until the music ends, and then restart the wav file? Am I asking too much?

I think that if I were doing something like this, I would put a blank slide at
the beginning of my presentation, with 0 (zero). I would put my wave file on
that slide, then set up my loop to start on the second slide. that way
regardless of how many loop's your presentation makes, it only starts the wave
file once. It also only plays the wave file once. If you want the wave file to
start over again, you then need to juggle your slide timings to match the length
of the wave file so that they start and restart together.

Should have finished my sentence, and said 0 transition timings.
