Default Charting Weekly Sales

I have run across an issue I can't seem to get a handle on.

I am trying to track sales across three regions on a weekly basis using a
column chart. Below is the series data I am using

Series 1
Name
='Projections'!$P$81
Value
='Projections'!$P$81:$P$94

Series 2
Name
='Projections'!$Q$81
Value
='Projections'!$Q$81:$Q$94

Series 3
Name
='Projections'!$R$81
Value
='Projections'!$R$81:$R$94

Category (X) axis Label (Dates)
='3.0 - Projections'!$B$81:$B$94

My issue is that when I use these values the chart has a blank area where
the first three data points should be. I assume that this is because B81 is
blank where P,Q, & R81 are the data lables for the series data.

When I try to correct this by changing the Category (X) axis Label to start
at $B$82 to reflect the actual data in the column the series data in the
chart gets so skinny you can't see it.

I am making the assumption that excel is somehow trying to make room for the
other six days of the week that are not reflected in the data.

Am I missing a setting somewhere that will fix this issue.

Jeff -

Excel is being helpful. It recognizes the dates in the X data range, and
gives you plenty of space for every day of the week, even though you
have only weekly data.

Choose Chart options from the Chart menu, click on the Axes tab, and
change the Category X Axis type from Time Scale or Automatic to
Category. This only uses the existing categories in the X data range
along the X axis.
