Cannot create new folders
My OE has three identities, "JR", "OD" and "VR".
"OD" has 268 folders, occupying 61 MB of HDD space. "VR" has 21 folders, occupying 116 MB of HDD space "JR" has 17 folders, occupying 1.5 MB of HDD space. OE is V6 and Windows is ME (no laugths, please). Both are up to date. When in "OD", I was not able create new folders. Deleting old folders and messages, compacting all folders and rebooting the PC bought me some space. However, the problem returns quite fast. What would be the best strategy to avoid this problem, which I believe is caused by OE not being able to handle so many folders and/or messages. Thanx! |

Cannot create new folders
Don't use Inbox or Sent Items to archive messages. Move them to local
folders created for this purpose. Disable Background Compacting and frequently perform a manual compact of all OE folders while "working offline". More at http://insideoe.tomsterdam.com/files/maintain.htm. Your anti-virus application's email scanning feature can also cause such corruption. Disable it. It provides no additional protection.
