Error 1907 while installing Office 2007 on Vista
Hi,
when I'm trying to install Office 2007 home&student the installation stops at around 70 % showing me: "Error 1907. Font could not be registered..." It also tells me that I should check for having enough rights, but I'm logged in as Administrator and also have started the setup as administrator. I checked for all other runnings programs if there is any which prevents access to register a font. Hence I've deactivated my virus scanner and all other software but still the installation fails. So what could cause this problem? Anybody out there who has a hint what to do? Thanks in advance, Michael |

Error 1907 while installing Office 2007 on Vista
Miha
This is a Microsoft error message and is known to occur at run time in the following scenarios: 1- The person installing the setup has insufficient permissions. 2- The font is invalid or is not supported on that particular operating system. 3- A title has not been given to the specific font file. You might want to install by logging in as Administrator or you can skip the error if that particular font is not needed. Some reported that running sfc /scannow before installing again has solved it also. I cannot vouch for this though -- Peter Please Reply to Newsgroup for the benefit of others Requests for assistance by email can not and will not be acknowledged. "Miha365" wrote in message ... Error 1907 while installing Office 2007 on Vista
Peter,
thanks for your answer. But as I wrote in my first post: - I'm logged in as administrator - I've started the setup.exe of MS Office 2007 with "Run as administrator". So I think from the privileges point of view that's all I can do. Your hint with "font is invalid or not supported" maybe is true, but I cannot avoid this as I use an Original MS Office 2007 installation CD. So how can I avoid an invalid font if it comes with the orginal installation files? Also the title comes with the original CD. I will try to run "sfc /scannow" but the problem is that the sfc.exe is not available on my Vista Home environment. Don't know why but have to search for it in other forums. Do you have any other hint? I'm really disappointed that the newest Office does not work on the newest operating system of MS...
