How can I display User-defined fields in General view, instead of clicking
"All Fields"? Can I customize or edit the General view design? I'm using
Outlook 2007.

Yes but it reverts to the old contact form, not the one with pictures.

Diane, thank you for your post. I don't need pictures. If I'm OK with the old
contact form, how do I do it?

from any open outlook item, click the office icon to expand the menu then
choose editor options at the bottom - third item on list in Popular section
is to show the developer tab. Select it.

From a contact form, go to the developer ribbon and choose design this form.
Make your changes and test it, then publish it.

to make it the default for a folder, right click on the folder and choose
properties. Select the new form from the dropdown for posting new items.

Any chance of this changing, to allow us to keep the photo? I really need
that to help me remember faces of my business contacts, but I'd also like to
be able to display Nicknames...

Diane, I greatly appreciate your instructions here. Might I ask a
follow-up: once you've designed and published a new form, how do you
get existing public contacts to open using the new form rather than
the default? Any new records I create use my new form, but existing
records still use the default form.

Many thanks!
