Email address automatically appear in my address book! Aggghhhhhh!

I have recently cleaned up my address book only to find that many people who
have emailed me or i have sent a mail to have been automatically placed into
my address book. Am i missing something? Is there something i should uncheck
so this does not happen again.

You need to explain what exactly you mean by "address book". Outlook doesn't
USE an "address book", it uses a Contacts folder. What is called "address
book" is merely a View of the Contacts folder used in inserting addressees
into an email.
Secondly, Outlook doesn't have the facility to place email addresses
automatically into Contacts.

Please post back with some more details...

Version of Outlook? Where is this address book? If you see them when you
start typing an address that is the autocomplete cache.
