Default How do I convert a Visio org chart to simple text boxes & lines?

I am using Visio Standard 2002 SR-1. I want to convert a Visio org chart to
a simple drawing of text boxes and lines. In other words, eliminate the org
chart "intelligence", such that I can move anything wherever I want without
other stuff moving with it.

Try our Visio utilities
http://www.visio-utilities.sandrila.co.uk

It can do a symbol substritute. I've just tried it and it seems to
work (Visio 2003). The connecting lines get deleted though. Must be
the org chart add on doing that so might be a good idea to temporarily
delete the add on (orgchart.dll) before doing any substitutions.

Do you know how much I just love airports?
Honestly, I don't have a fear of flying (I love take off) but I
wouldn't be the slightest put out if I never saw the inside of an
aeroplane again and I don't think liners do Southampton to New York in
3 or 4 days anymore.

Rather than deleting or renaming the add-on dll, you can also remove the
persisted events in the document that launch the add-on for that particular
drawing. If you have the Visio SDK installed, you can do this by going to
"ToolsAdd-onsSDKToolsPersistent Events..." and removing the call to Org
Chart. If you don't have the SDK, the easiest way to do this is probably to
save as xml (.vdx) then remove the EventList element, which holds the
persisted events for that document.
