Default Forwarded messages of file type .eml will not open

Forwarded mail messages (from trusted sources) received as attachments with
file extensions of .eml and of type "Earthlink Mail Message" will not open
and show error dialogue such as: "not a supported file type" or "file has
been damaged, i.e., message was sent as an attachment and not properly
decoded". Have verified that senders do not have Earthlink as e-mail
provider. Other forwarded attachments, i.e., photos & video, open fine with
default applications. Thanks in advance for any help.

Save an EML file to the HDD (Shift+)Right-click on the saved file Open
with Select Outlook Express (msimn.exe) & check the "Always open with..."
box.
