I love the shortcut bar at the top and used it 99% of the time instead of
having to go and look for a program every time I it needed it, or is there
some other way?

No there is no shortcut bar, there is a 'New Office Document' & 'Open Office
Document' shortcuts - they do pretty much the same thing (Should be in your
Start Menu, or can be added if not)
