Default Creating cross-references to math formulas

Is there a way to create a cross-reference to a math formula -- including a
reference that is located in a separate table from the one that contains the
formula?

If so, is there any way to make the cross-references auto-update (or do they
have to be selected and F9'd every time the data returned by the math
formulas changes)?

Thanks.

Bookmark the formula and use Insert | References | Cross-reference to the
bookmark.

Bookmark the formula and use Insert | References | Cross-reference to the
bookmark.

Thanks -- will that *auto-update* the value in the cell where the bookmark
is located when the 'original' value changes?

I don't want to have to navigate to every bookmark to do it manually (F9 ad
infinitum).

Alternatively, if you've got multiple cells to refer to in a single table, bookmark the whole table and use a formula like:
{=SUM(Table1 A1)}
where 'Table1' is the bookmark name and 'A1' is the cell reference.

As to the auto updating, unless the document is protected for forms or you're using a macro, the results will only update via
selecting the cross-reference and pressing F9, doing a Print Preview or printing the document.

Thanks. How does one bookmark an entire table?

Hi mkraft,

1. Select the table.
2. Use Insert|Bookmark.

Thanks, but what I meant is:

If the intention is for the second table to have cells that contain
bookmarks which cross-reference values in cells of the first table, how does
bookmarking the entire second table achieve that?

Hi mkraft,

I didn't suggest bookmarking the second table. In fact, this is the first mention I've seen of a second table. The only table that
needs to be bookmarked is the table being referred to in the cross-references.
