Default Can't find Excel anymore on computer

I have windows 98 se. I know excel was on my computer when I bought it. But I can't find it. My cd drive is broken so I can't reinstall my windows cd. I'm now in need of excel for a program I need to use for my new business. Is there anywhere to download the old 97 version? Or is it just not activated on my computer and there is some way to do it without using a cd?

Hi
no legal way to download Excel. I'd try to repair my CD drive and
re-install Excel from your original CDs

hi there,

to echo frank, not legally. you could probably find a cheap version
(discarded/not used) of excel on ebay or the likes.

if you go to Start - Run - type EXCEL.EXE, nuthin huh? if it was
there before, then poof, now it's not, sounds like something is fishy
here. . . .

anyone else have access to the PC?

Another thing to try is to just go into Windows Explorer and find an Excel
file and double-click on it to see if it will find Excel and open
it.........
