Somehow outlook express says it's deleted everytime I bootup and asks me is I
want to remove perferences. Then I can't run system file checker becasue it
says I'm not using the right XP cd. I tried to restore at 2 different points
but nothing works. I installed IE 7 hoping it would fix it and it didn't
either.

I need help with this becasue this is a pain at every bootup

Thanks

What is the exact message you get?

Is OE checked in Add/Remove Programs | Add/Remove Windows Components?

Any new programs added lately that *touch* OE?

It really isn't removed I still get it but I get that mesage. On bootup I
get "You have installed windows NT into a existing win 3x directory you have
the option to migrate " then it gives me 2 options, even if I don't select
them I still get that outlook express is removed do I want to removed
perference too. It isn't in the add/remove either.

Did you upgrade a Windows 3.X to NT? If so, this is way beyond my pay grade.
We will have to wait for an answer from someone else.

Please explain exactly what you changed on your computer.
Did you upgrade and installed into the same partition?

I didn't install any of that, all I did was disabled some services because I
read where I could disable 2 of them if I wasn't on a network. DNS Client
and DHCP Client.

And if you change them from disabled to automatic how does it work?

You must have done something else then.

Since it is happening during the boot you could try changing your startup options
or just temporarily disable them.

E.g. Run... (press Win-R) and enter: msconfig
then see what is listed and checked in the Startup tab.
In order to capture the ones which are used you can also Run...

msinfo32.exe /category SWEnvStartupPrograms

and use that tool's Edit commands.
Tip: sort by User Name before capturing.

Alternatively, when you boot hold down a Shift- key and that supposedly
stops stuff like that from being run.

My guess is that you could find oemig50.exe (or something related)
is being run but I have no idea why that might be there.
Again, I suspect you have done something else that you aren't telling us
or don't realize that you've done.

since this looks like it was going to be a long process I just ran my backup
from last month. I really didn't want to becasue now I have to reinstall
stuff that was added since then.

I was using IE7 but went back to 6 becasue in Outlook Express I can't open
any links. That is the only problem I found with the IE7 and would like to
use it but I also want my links in my email to work too. This is what I get
when I register the dll files, mshtml.dll was loaded but the
DLLRegisterServer entry point was not found. All the other dll's register
fine except this one.
