macro cannot be found
I created a macro and called it Timestamp_on_save. It was originally
supposed to populate a cell with the current time and date upon hitting the 'save' button. Originally I created the simple macro for one particular file but unfortunately, it began to run every time I had any Excel file open, not just the file for which it was created. I have been trying to delete/disable this macro but now I cannot even find it. I get an error message every time I hit the save button saying it cannot find the macro but, if that were the case, why would I even get an error message. When I try to delete or disable it, it doesn't even show up. Help would be very much appreciated |

When you create a macro, it automatically defaults to saving it in a
personal macro workbook (PERSONAL.XLS), and so is available to all workbooks. On Excel startup, PERSONAL.XLS is usually opened and hidden. It sounds like in your case it isn't being opened. Do a windows search for it, and open it - then the macro should be available for editing / deletion. If you only want a macro to be available in one particular workbook, when you get to the "Record Macro" dialog box, choose "This workbook" from the "Store macro in:" dropdown.
