Format of captions lost when toggle field
I am working on a very long document with Word XP. I have my figures
with their captions inside frames. I did a 'toggle field' for the whole document, and when I wanted to go back (i.e. to hide field codes), many of my captions appeared out of the figure frame, on their own, in another frame hanging at random places of the document. Does anybody know how to avoid this in the future? I do have a back up of the file on a CD, however when I open it now it shows the field codes instead of the right captions, and when I do 'toggle', the same problem occurs. Any way I could change this in the template or something, so that when I open this back up the codes appear already hidden? (that is the way it was when I burned it!) Many thanks, I'm desperate! --- Message posted from http://www.ExcelForum.com/ |

Format of captions lost when toggle field
Open a new blank document, go to Tools Options View, and uncheck
"Field codes". Then open the long document. This setting affects every document you open while it's set, but is not saved with the document. marcustockstall wrote: I am working on a very long document with Word XP.
