Default Auto size row

I can't seem to merge cells and wrap text and have the row
automatically size itself to fit the data.

If you wrap text in a single cell it works, does anyone
know how to make it work in merged cells.

Merged cells will not auto-wrap.
Row has to be enlarged manually.

If your merged cells are strictly across columns within the same row, have
you tried the "CenterAcrossSelection" option in:
Format Cells Alignment tab,
Expand the "Horizontal" box and click,
CenterAcrossSelection.

This gives the same display characteristics as merged cells, without all the
other problems associated with those !#%$@&^! merged cells !

Ragdyer's suggestion to "center across selection" is easiest and least
troublesome.

If you really must use merged cells, which will cause problems later with
copy/paste/sort/filtering to name a few.

You can resize manually or via Macro. Jim Rech has written
code for this.

Note also a recent adaptation of this code by Greg Wilson.
