Default how to change text font

I'm using IE & OE 5.5 but the solution is probably the same for version 6.0,
how to change the text font in the text, on web pages, and in messages.
I've tried going through Display Properties, and have changed many other
items, but not the IE & OE text. Any ideas?

I'm not sure exactly what you want to change. Are you interested in
changing the font in messages that you receive?

For plain text messages you can do that in Tools, Options, Read, Fonts.

You can also adjust the size in View, Text Size.

IE also has a similar View, Text Size for web pages. And IE has some
font related settings in Tools, Internet Options, General in the Fonts
button and Accessibility.
