Default How do you make the projection screen go black?

For presentations, I have my laptop hooked up to a projector. How can I
prevent the projector from projecting what is on my laptop screen while I am
getting ready for the presentation (i.e. finding the location of my
presentation on my laptop, etc.)? I just don't want the audience to see what
I am doing on my laptop until I am ready to present the presentation. At
that time, I would want the projector to project the image on my laptop.

Start by reading the documentation for the laptop and the projector.

Toggle the Fn key and the number key for the display. The number key is
different on different makes of laptop. Look for a little screen icon on the
numbers, and chances are, that's the one you want. Press Fn while you press
that number. The system should cycle through three views -- laptop only,
projector only, and laptop + projector together -- each time you press
Fn+number, it will go to a different view.
