Default Add additional mailbox in existing user's inbox

Hi there,

I am setting up another user in the company's mailbox to
appear in my inbox so I can see their folders etc. but
when I click on the new mailbox that has been added it
keeps on brining up an error message saying "Unable to
display the folder. Microsoft Office Outlook could not
access the specified folder location."

I have completed this task in the past and even dialled in
as the Administrator I am still having this error
message. I followed the step by step from the Office
onlince help of Microsoft so that is fine. Did I miss a
step somewhere or are there any other details that I had
to do when creating the new mailbox that I left out that
might be the reason why it is not working?

Does anyone know or can you help me to access it? Thanks
so much!

Lacking this information:

Version of Outlook
Version of Exchange
How you attempted to add the mailbox

or any other useful information, it is hard for us to attempt to help you.

Default Add additional mailbox in existing user's inbox

Hi Milly,

Thanks for your reply. Sorry I did forget to mention=20
those details to you. Here they a

Outlook Version - 2003 (the newest one)
Exchange Server - Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 (on a=20
Microsoft 2003 Small Business Server)
TO add the Mailbox - As metioned earlier in my first=20
posting I used the online Office help in outlook. Here it=20
gave me step by step instructions to add that extra=20
mailboxc. I pasted the instructions below as they=20
explained it:

If you are a delegate (delegate: Someone granted=20
permission to open another person's folders, create items,=20
and respond to requests for that person. The person=20
granting delegate permission determines the folders the=20
delegate can access and the changes the delegate can=20
make.) and routinely respond to e-mail for someone else,=20
you may want to add their mailbox (mailbox: Location on a=20
Microsoft Exchange server where your e-mail is delivered.=20
Your administrator sets up a mailbox for each user. If you=20
designate a personal folder file as your e-mail delivery=20
location, messages are routed to it from your mailbox.) to=20
your account for quick access. You must have been granted=20
at least reviewer permission to open their mailbox and see=20
it in your Folder List.

On the Tools menu, click E-Mail Accounts.=20
Click View or change existing e-mail accounts, and then=20
click Next.=20
In the list, click the Exchange account type, and then=20
click Change.=20
Click More Settings, and then click the Advanced tab.=20
Click Add, and then type the mailbox name of the person=20
whose mailbox you want to add to your user profile=20
(Outlook user profile: A group of e-mail accounts and=20
address books. Typically, a user needs only one but can=20
create any number, each with a set of e-mail accounts and=20
address books. Multiple profiles are useful if more than=20
one person uses the computer.). If you do not know the=20
mailbox name of the person, contact your administrator.=20

I followed the above steps and then the error message=20
mentioned below occured when I double clicked on the new=20
mailbox that appeared in my outlook mail folders on the=20
left hand panel side.

Let me know if you need any more info to help me with this=20
problem. Thanks a mil!

Can you try this with a new profile? Are the mail delivery locations for
each mailbox set to the Exchange server and not Personal Folders?
