migrating from Outlook 2000 to 2003 and new system
I am having the exact same problem. I just downgraded from Outlook 2003 to Outlook 2002 after having upgraded from Outlook 2002 to Outlook 2003. My .PST file was still in the Outlook 97-2002 format as I had upgraded. Outlook 2002 did not have any problems reading the .PST file, but my address book is not empty.
I thought all the folders (inbox, calendar, contacts) are stored in the one big .PST file. I do not understand what is the difference between Contacts and Address Book. When I right click on the CONTACTS and select properties and go to the Outlook Address Book tab, the "Show contacts in address book" option is disabled.
When I go to Tools E-mail accounts View or change existing directories is not the selected option under Address book. In fact none of the radio boxes are selected. If View or Change was selected, then that would have meant it found the address book.
