Default Print Document as .tif missing Word 2007

Hi - I am using Word 2007 which is part of Office 2007 Professional. I had
been using Office 2007 Pro on XP SP3. When I wanted to print a document, I
had the option of printing it as an image (.tif) in the printer options.
Please note that this option was in the printer options and not in the Word
2007 printing options.

I am now using Windows 7 Professional (32 bit), and I no longer have the
'print as .tif' option in Word 2007.

Question: I do I enable this option?

Thanks

Joe

If you have not already done so you need to re-run Office setup and install
Microsoft Office Document Imaging, which will provide a printer driver that
allows you to save as TIF format. This driver is not installed by default.

Thanks for the quick response. Do I have to run the full Office
installation again or is this option separate from the full Office
installation?

If it is separate, how do I access it in order to install it? When I
installed Office 2007 in XP, I simply chose the default installation
setting. I also chose the default installation setting when installing
Office 2007 on Windows 7 Pro.

No you don't have to re-install the whole thing, you can add components,
from the add or remove programs applet (called Programs & Features in
Windows 7) in Control Panel. Locate Office 2007 and choose the option to
change the installation.

The only option I get in the Control Panel is "Do you want to Uninstall
Office 2007?"

In Programs and Features, if you right-click on Office, do you not see Change in the context menu? Which version of Win 7 are you using?

Terry and Graham - Thanks for the information. I carefully followed your
instructions and was finally able to get the Microsoft Office Document
Imaging working. It actually took a 'repair' installation to accomplish
this.

Also, I print the document I need from a website, and I had to 'disable' UAC
in Windows 7 Professional in order to download *and* view it.

Thanks again for your assistance.
