Default How to open a Publisher 97 file without Publisher

A graphic artist designed my brochure in Publisher 97, and
then retired and moved away... I want to make changes to
the text and, ideally, save the clipart graphics, but my
PC can't open the document (it's on a floppy.) I have
Office XP, version 2002 and my son has Photoshop on his
computer, but neither of us has Publisher. Is there any
way to retrieve the text and edit it? I'd like it in a
format that allows me to regularly update the content.
Suggestions?

You'd need Publisher to edit the file. The best we could do would be to
offer to save it as a .pdf but that doesn't help you. If you open the .pdf
in Photoshop you'd have a real mess to edit it. It becomes just a graphic.
It could be saved as text but you could just retype it yourself.

I am willing to save the graphics for you and send them on if that would
help. It'll be up to you to recreate the layout. (Yuck)

It would be great if you could somehow save the graphics
so I could use them in the next layout. I don't understand
how it could be saved as text (I'd much rather not retype
it), if I can't open the file. I appreciate your help.

You're welcome to send me the file. I can try to extract whatever I can from
it. Your formatting will be shot but you should have the basic tools to work
with in another program.

If you want to take me up on the offer, email me and I'll give you an
address you can send the file to.
