Default What is an unsafe attachment?

I am creating my 3rd newsletter in Publisher and when I try to send this one
as an email for proof reading, I am getting an error saying virus or unsafe
attachment, pubCA6.tmp removed and no attachment at all is in the email. How
can I correct this?

My Norton is current and does not see a virus.

Who is getting the error? You or the recipient?

Just wondering why you're sending the
..tmp file and not the completed .pub file?

I am attempting to attach the file via Publisher as a .pub. I go to File and
"send as an email. My MSN is identifying it as a .tmp file. I am going to
try to send it outside of publisher and see what happens. Stay tuned.

This is my 3rd attempt to answer you. I keep getting server busy and I lose
my reply to bit heaven. One more time.

MSN gives the error and identifies the documnet as a tmp file and generates
the errors when I attempt to attach the file in an email using File in
Publisher. I never get to send it out as MSN removes the "tmp" from the
email and I end up with a blank email.

It must be a fault of sending and email via Publisher. I simply opened an
email in MSN and attached the file from there rather that via Publisher and
it works just fine. Don't know why but such is the case.

Thanks for your response.

Thanks for the reply...I thought the .tmp
file could be the problem but I don't know
why it's happening unless it's an issue
with MSN. At least you discovered a
satisfactory way to send the file.

Actually I believe it is a problem with both MSN and Publisher because I
was able to attach the file directly using MSN.

Trying to use the drop down "File" while the document is open and then "Send
email" then "Send as Publication Attachment is the culprit here. And
interestingly, each time I try to send it through the drop down menu in
Publisher, the error appears in the MSN email in hexidecimal incrementseach
time I attempt to attach it. IE: pubCA6.tmp to just now and error
pubDAF.tmp.

The error in the MSN email says: "Virus or unsafe files were detected in
one or more attached files. The following attached files were removed or
cleaned: pubDAF.tmp" resulting in an empty emai.

Yes, I found a workaround but why is this happening? Can you duplicate it?

Thanks

If you aren't using Outlook or Outlook Express, sending an email thru
Publisher doesn't work.
