i am a user of Microsoft office xp, i usually use microsoft word, however lately i have been having a problem. everytime i startup microsoft word, the cursor is initially placed approxiamately 3 quarters down the page, and i cannot be able to move the cursor upwards to start typing up a new task. it is really annoying problem. i selected the option detect and repair and still didnt fix the problem. i also tried reinstalling office, however it also didnt fix the problem. No matter what i tried doing, the cursor would not move up the page. . Can you please find me a resolution. help and assistance would be really appreciated. regards |

Cursor at startup will not move
Hi Michael
The most likely cause of your problem is that the page is set to be centred vertically. To test this, create a new document. Do File Page Setup. On the Layout tab, does the Vertical Alignment box say Centre? If so, that's the cause of your problem. Alternatively, maybe there's something weird in the header. View Header and Footer. Click the ¶ button on the toolbar. That will display a ¶ to indicate the end of each paragraph. Is there any thing in the header that looks weird? If you've found the problem, you need to fix it permanently. To do that, you'll have to edit normal.dot and make the change there. Then your fix will apply to all future documents you create. The following page explains how to do that: http://www.mvps.org/word/FAQs/AppErr...ocNotBlank.htm Hope this helps. Shauna Kelly.
