Page numbers not updated when printing

I have a 35-page document with multiple sections. The footers have "Page X
of Y" in them. When I view the document on the computer, the "Y" is correct
on every page. When I print the document, the "Y" is incorrect, and in fact
is different on just about every page. Only on the last page or two is the
"Y" correct. Any ideas on how to fix this?
