Multiple font sizes witin a style?
Tell me if this is nuts, but:
I want to have some styles that have more than one size in them. Actually it's probably easiest if I show my requirements and let someone make a suggestion. Here is a sample of what I am trying to do: OSTaskQuery: Software shall provide a service that allows a task or ISR to obtain status and other internal information about a specified task. The task or ISR shall be required to identify the subject task by its priority. The asdf shall be required to identify the subject task by its priority. I would like the first sentence to be in style A. The second in style B, The third in style B. Each indented from the previous. The 6pt stuff is a keyword used in testing. All the rest is 10pt. There will also be a 6 char identifier at the beginning of each line in hidden text and each line will be marked as a bookmark that another program needs to find. My early attempts look ok, but when I save then reload the file, the entire line is in 6pt. Is this possible? |

Please don't attach anything to posts in these newsgroups. Thank you.
The short answer to your question is "No, you can't." but I think you can accomplish what you want. It is just that styles, alone, can't be the vehicle. Consider using a three-column table with each column having its own paragraph style. Save a table row as an AutoText entry. For more on tables, see http://addbalance.com/usersguide/tables.htm For more on styles, see http://addbalance.com/usersguide/styles.htm For more on AutoText see help and then the links on the subject at http://addbalance.com/word/wordwebresources.htm. -- Charles Kenyon Word New User FAQ & Web Directory: http://addbalance.com/word Intermediate User's Guide to Microsoft Word (supplemented version of Microsoft's Legal Users' Guide) http://addbalance.com/usersguide See also the MVP FAQ: http://www.mvps.org/word which is awesome! --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- This message is posted to a newsgroup. Multiple font sizes witin a style?
By definition, a style holds ONE size of font, consistent formatting is the
point of using styles. However, you can get more than one style on the same line, see here for various ways depending on version: http://home.zebra.net/~sbarnhill/RunInSidehead.htm Not necessarily better or worse than the suggestion of using tables, see what method works best for you. Please don't post attachments, many people will not even see them and those who do will not open them for fear of viruses.
