OK, thankyou PA,

I have read you new replies and will work through them, thankyou.

In order for me to understand "why" this problem has been caused can you try
and explain as best you can!!

Is it mainly to do with me having TWO "msnews.microsoft.com" listed? (one of
which has (1) sufix). As I subscribed to these two listings from the same
"list" of newsgroups (and from within OE) I would have thought that they
were in fact "exactly the same", and therefore my posts would therefore end
up in the same place.

Okay if I think along the lines of - I have two "msnews.microsoft.com"
listed "but" depending on which one I use, my posts end up in a different
place, and that is why you can see some of them - but not others that would
be fair enough..........but it does not answer every question

Why is it I can see some posts (most in fact) in both of my views of the
newsgroup (with or without the (1) )

In one of my views I can see two of my posts entitled
"compacting....blah..blah", but you cannot see either (and niether can
bruce), as they have been on view to me since 03/02/2010 and 06/02/2010
why has "nobody" replied to them......am I the "ONLY" person who can see
them????

Last, question for the mo'........When I recieved your 06/02/2010 19:35
reply to my Missing posts thread, (the main thread we are working on), I did
as you requested,, I reposted useing the link you supplied............
I saw the post arrive on the newsgroup in my OE upper pane and then saw it
get a line through it, and then it dissapeared......hence my "What
happened??" and "can I ask....." (this thread).
I then posted another repost repost afterwards entiltled "Compacting .....or
not quite..." And I sat and waited (whilst refreshing with F5 every few
minutes) and I saw yet another "Compacting blah blah...arriving on the
server, (via the link you asked me to use)......I thought "At last, it's
arrived and in a place where you will be able to see it!!!!!

This morning I look to see if there is a reply.......and to my horror/
disbelief....the post had a line through it!!!!
no longer on the server---------as you can see in the screenshot below)

LUCKILY....I have taken a screen shot of it....otherwise you may not believe
or understand what I am on about.

He- http://i50.tinypic.com/9vgxm8.jpg

Can I ask if you know why some of my posts are being deleted? (the original
and most important one...Grrrrrr)

Again many many thanks for your patience and wisedom.

We would be sunk without you all!!!!!!!!

Steve

[Crosspost* to OE General]

I have no idea why your posts were deleted but I suspect yours weren't the
only posts affected. IOW the problem isn't totally on your end. See my
post in this newsgroup with the subject "This newsgroup's synchronization
has gone wonky" for some info & details.

Your specific problem might be due to a corrupt identity. We'll know if
such is the case after you've completed everything in this post:
http://groups.google.com/group/micro...ae8e725187b392

Also do the following after you've completed everything in that post:

1. Add 'microsoft.public.outlookexpress.general' to your list of Subscribed
newsgroups on the news://msnews.microsoft.com newsserver.

2. Crosspost* any further replies you make to this thread or any other of
the threads *you have already started* in this OE6 newsgroup to OE General
newsgroup, too. (You'll see I've crossposted this reply to both
newsgroups.)

3. Start using OE General newsgroup as your default for all new OE questions
& threads. It appears to be more reliable right now.

Default can I ask why my post is being deleted please

HI PA,

Can I ask if you can see any of my posts above?

****Compacting........or rather not quite.... (also as a test) 11 February
2010 14:10****

****Can anyone see my post below- 11/02/2010 14:10 12 February 2010
13:49****

Briefly, what "actually" is a corrupt identity?

Why would that make my post invisible to some poeple but visible to me?

Why would a corrupt identity cause replies like this to be seen and answered
by you, but other new threads, (witch I have crossposted) to arrive on the
OE general NG but then be deleted, yet stay on this newsgroup, unanswered or
invisible to all but me.

Can I ask if the posts that get deleted, are deleted by a MS SDP (MS Special
Deleting Person), or are they

deleted by a robot or programme???

Cheers Steve

I'll only reply to this post if you PROMISE me that you'll only use ENTER to
begin a new paragraph when composing your posts in Word! (To begin a new
line, if necessary, use SHIFT+ENTER.)

With the understanding that I'm reading this thread in OE General newsgroup,
not OE6 newsgroup, and that I delete all newsgroup posts older than 3 days
twice-a-week:

A1. No (and not even in OE6 newsgroup).

A2. No (and not even in OE6 newsgroup).

A3. Roll up your sleeves and see
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/IE/...orruption.mspx

A4. Dunno.

A5. A corrupt (damaged) identity is only one of the many possible reasons
your posts go missing.

A6. Microsoft newsgroups are not Moderated (by a robot or human beings).
That being said, there are filters in place on the newsserver(s) but I'm not
privvy to their inner-workings or settings.

Now, no more pussy-footing around! Have you or have you NOT completed Steps
#1 through #6 in this previous reply of mine? [yes/no] =
http://groups.google.com/group/micro...ae8e725187b392

Have you or have you NOT completed Steps #1 through #3 in the post of mine
which you quote in your reply below? [yes/no]
